Permanent Opportunity based in South West Sydney Your new companyAn established and growing Australian organisation is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its finance team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this position offers broad exposure across financial accounting, payroll, compliance, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded accountant who enjoys working in a hands-on role with variety and genuine influence across the business.
Your new role
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end reporting and analysis.
- Investigate financial variances and provide commentary to management.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
- Process intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Prepare and lodge BAS returns.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting and year-end audit activities.
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and statutory reporting requirements.
- Coordinate end-to-end payroll activities and ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Manage payroll tax, superannuation and associated statutory obligations.
- Maintain payroll controls and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Provide payroll support and guidance to managers and employees.
- Assist with commission calculations and payment validation.
- Support credit card and expense management processes.
- Assist with debtor management and credit insurance activities.
- Manage PPSR registrations and related compliance requirements.
- Support banking and payment authorisation processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects and finance transformation initiatives.
- Provide support across broader finance functions as required.
- CA or CPA qualified
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a financial accounting role.
- Strong month-end and financial reporting experience.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working across ERP systems.
- Experience with payroll processing and statutory compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across stakeholders.
- A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach.
