Company Overview
We have specialists in taxation (corporate and individual), computer services, accounting, auditing, business advisory services, and have experience in various industries including, but not limited to, agri-business, farming, construction, retail, trucking, nonprofits and various types of manufacturing. We strive to meet the needs of our clients' companies and their families while understanding the challenges of their industry. Using our technical and industry expertise, we consult with our clients on retirement, transition, and estate planning matters. We also assist clients with transactions involving the purchase or sale of a business or real estate. Our service area includes Auglaize, Darke, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, and Shelby Counties with our main office located in Sidney, Ohio. We also have office space available for use by appointment in Cassella, New Knoxville, and Versailles.
Company History
Our accounting firm was founded in November 1947 by Mark Beckman and Otto Hilt. In November 1953, Charles McCrate joined the firm. During the 1960s John DeLaet became a partner in the firm. The firm's name of McCrate, DeLaet and Co. was established after the death of Hilt in July 1966. The firm has grown steadily over the years and currently has over 25 employees. On November 1, 2006 we merged with Richard T. Martin, CPA. This merger brought together two firms that have over 95 years of combined experience in public accounting. Richard retired in the spring of 2014. In fall of 2016 long time partners Dale Schwieterman and David Monnier retired from the firm. Dale had been a partner since the late 1970s and David became a partner in the late 1980s. Mark Hoge and Sarah Stammen were promoted to partners with the retirement of Dale and Dave.
