Position Overview:

The Sr. Financial Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Accounting and Finance team with daily operations. This role will also require expanded responsibilities as stated below.

Position Location:  Shaker Heights, OH with hybrid schedule of 3 days in office/2 days at home per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

*Analyze current and past financial data and performance.
*Generate and distribute monthly financial reports to various Business Leaders.
*Perform the monthly closing activities for Fixed Assets
*Upload Payroll Journal Entries and reconcile related accounts monthly.
*Collaborate with the Controller/VP of Finance, managers and staff to explain operating statements. Initiate changes where needed.
*Prepare reports and projections based on this analysis.
*Perform various Accounting functions, such as journal entries and transaction processing. 
*Conduct complex reconciliations.
*Serve in backup capacity for accounts payable and receivable functions.
*Manage Fixed Assets and tracking of capital projects.
*Assist in monthly closings.
*As needed, assist Controller/VP of Finance with answering questions from business leaders and with training new employees.
*Prepare ad hoc analysis as requested.
*Assist with year-end audit(s) and reviews.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience: 

*Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CMA a plus.
*3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, FP&A, or other related fields.
*Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and financial modeling
*Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
*Attention to accuracy and detail required.
*Preferred Skills:Knowledge of ERP systems; Deltek preferred.
*Strategic thinking
*Effective communication & presentation skills

The wage range listed for this role takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
