We are seeking a talented individual to join our Accounting Operations team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Urbandale, Iowa. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Staff Accountant I (Revenue Recognition) will be part of a collaborative and fast-paced environment supporting stakeholders from various MMC entities. This role offers an excellent training plan and the opportunity to add value as a key contributor to the team.

We will count on you to:

• Prepare, review and analyze various accounting reports including variances, billing, and other statements; may ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Assist with the development, implementation and documentation of internal and external accounting and operating policies, procedures and process improvements for general accounting functions.
• Address inquiries from stakeholders across multiple lines of business.
• Partner with team members to develop process efficiencies.
• Perform reconciliation reviews.
• Interact with various internal stakeholders including Controllers & Financial Planning.
• Review system enhancements and upgrades to understand their function.
• Review documentation for proper revenue recognition criteria.
• Complete quality assurance reviews on fee and commission revenue for proper accounting treatment.

What you need to have:

• Associate's degree in finance or accounting.
• Proficient with MS Excel.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Experience with Oracle.
