Join a values-driven financial services organisation and play a key role in delivering high-quality management reporting, strategic financial advice and operational support.Hays is proud to partner with a respected, community-focused financial services organisation seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their close-knit team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone coming from a banking, financial services or funds management environment, ideally with a degree in accounting/finance and strong experience in management reporting.
Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Management, you will deliver accurate financial reporting, support strategic decision-making and contribute to the efficient operation of the organisation.
Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly management accounts with commentary for senior leadership
• Develop annual budgets, cashflow forecasts and balance sheet projections
• Produce financial and operational reports as required

Audit, Compliance & Systems

• Act as the key contact for external auditors
• Ensure financial statements and reporting meet compliance requirements
• Maintain accounting systems, controls and policies
• Manage BAS preparation and lodgement
• Oversee monitoring and compliance

Operational Finance & Support

• Manage accounts payable
• Support loan application, drawdown and review processes
• Liaise with financial institutions on liquidity and funds management
• Assist with risk management and client relationship activities
• Contribute to projects and operational improvements

What you'll need to succeed
You will bring a combination of technical ability, strong communication skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset. To be successful, you will ideally have:

• CA/CPA qualification (highly regarded)
• Proven experience in a similar management accounting role
• Exposure to the banking or financial services sector
• High-level analytical skills and strong attention to detail
• Excellent Excel capability and confidence working with financial systems
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a small professional team
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
