Financial Accountant job for a company based in Melbourne CBD on a permanent basis paying up to $120k + super Your new companyThis internationally renowned organisation is one of the leading companies within its discipline. They have been so successful because they really support career development, creating a collaborative culture as well as still operating in a high-quality, fast-paced environment. The finance team are looking to further expand their team by looking for a financial accountant to start immediately.
Your new role
This role will be responsible for delivering financial reporting, compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and supporting strong financial governance across the corporate operations of the company. You will be a key stakeholder in partnering with multiple stakeholders across different business units as well as being responsible for leading month-end close, budgeting and continuous improvement.
Key duties will include:
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
- Managing compliance with statutory tax, BAS, GST, payroll tax, and FBT.
- Coordinating external audits and acting as a main contact for the auditors.
- Maintaining the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset register.
- Driving continuous improvements across multiple entities, including system upgrades, automation initiatives, data integrity enhancements, and strengthening financial systems, controls, and reporting processes.
- Providing financial analysis and insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Reviewing and analysing financial results, identifying variances and trends
You will need to have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, as well as working towards or completed a CA/ CPA qualification. You must have a strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance. You must also have strong ERP/ accounting systems experience as well as advanced excel. If you have relevant industry experience, this would be advantageous to your application, but is not essential as long as your previous roles have been relevant to this position.
