JOB DESCRIPTIONBecome part of Westchester's expert underwriting team as a Small Business E&S Underwriter. In this role, you will focus on evaluating and underwriting excess and surplus (E&S) lines for small business clients, helping deliver tailored insurance solutions for unique and complex risks. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze insurance applications and evaluate risks associated with small business accounts in the E&S market
- Determine appropriate rates, terms, and conditions for coverage based on risk analysis and market trends
- Collaborate with brokers to gather necessary information, provide clarification, and negotiate terms and conditions
- Utilize underwriting guidelines and company standards to make sound underwriting decisions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes affecting the E&S market
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders to promote effective communication and collaboration
- Assist in developing and implementing underwriting strategies to achieve profitability and growth objectives
- Review and approve endorsements, audits, and other policy changes as necessary
- Travel as needed for client meetings, training sessions, and industry events
